Fellow Breeders,

 

It\'s been great to see strong buying by WA breeders at recent broodmare sales, I\'m certain Murray Tillett hopes this trend continues at the upcoming National Broodmare Sale at the Gold Coast. This ongoing investment in the industry will increase the depth in quality of our future yearling sales.

I\'m certain by now we have all had a critical look at our weanlings with an eye on the 2012 sales. As previously advised next year\'s sale will have a similar number catalogued to this year but most likelywill be segregated as 200 premium select, 250 select and 200 Westspeed. We will again join forces with Magic Millions over the coming months to assist in the development of the buying bench.

Since the early and mid 1980\'s we have had wonderful contributions from 3 very important and dedicated people to the Association.

-  Sally Oakes, past President and retires after 30 years on the Committee

-  John Andrew, past President and retires after 28 years on the Committee

-  Veronica Jackson-Smith, Executive Officer and retires after 25 years with the Association

 

In conjunction with this year\'s AGM at the Rose and Crown on the 1st August we propose holding a function to thank these retirees for their combined 83 years of committment to the industry.
