Rocket Man wins Kranji Stakes

Australian bred sprinter Rocket Man had an impressive five lengths win overnight in the $125,000 Kranji Stakes A over 1200m. Rocket Man, who's sire Viscount stands at WA's Oakland Park Stud, started favourite and will now travel to Japan to contest the 1200m Gr 1 Sprinters Stakes on 2 October.
Rocketman has had 21 starts for an amazing 17 wins and 4 second placings. Viscount is standing this season at Oakland Park Stud with a service fee of $9,900.

WA bred horses were to the fore on Friday night 10/6/2011 with two winners. The first was Dragon Gate, a Bletchley Park gelding out of Dauberval's Prayer, winning over 1000m for trainer T.Kieser and ridden by J.Moreira. The second winner for the Desmond Koh stable was Dynamic Master, a Helenus gelding out of the Metal Storm mare Steely Gaze, a winner over 1900m, continuing Helenus stocks great recent form.

In Singapore yesterday, triple Gr1-winning WA Oakland Park Stud-based sire Viscount (Quest For Fame-Antwerp, by Sir Tristram) added a Gr1 triumph when front-running Australian-bred 5YO gelding & Singapore's highest-rated galloper Rocket Man (Viscount-Macrosa, by McGinty) raced away for a 4.8-lengths victory in the S$1 million (A$800,000) Gr1 KrisFlyer International Sprint (1200m) at Kranji to improve on his runner-up efforts in this same race in 2009 & 2010. The West Aussies flew the flag in Perak on the weekend with two winners eing produced on Sunday 17th. The first winner over 1400m was Wai Kor, a Dante's Fury gelding out of Brilliant Princess and he scored in effortless fashion. The other winner was How you see, a Viscount gelding out of Borely and he also scored convincingly over 1200m.

Three West Australian Bred horses won over the weekend in Malaysia. The first being the Cecil Robert trained U-Three Kingdom, a Key Business gelding out of Silver Cash winning over 1400m. Another gelding, Fight to Live by Tayasu Tsuyoshi out of Pretty Alert won over 1600m for Richard Lines. The third winner was Arowana Bullet, a gelding by Bellotto out of Miss Golly and he was a product of the 2006 Perth Magic Millions Premier Sale.
In Macau 6 year old Bletchley Park Gelding Chinese Express, out of good racemare Miss Torpago won over 1050m for trainer KC...

Australian Bred horses once again dominated the Malaysian Racing scene, with the dominant victory to the Malaysian Champion Captain Obvious winning the RM 300,000 Tunku Gold Cup in sensational style for trainer KL Chong. Captain Obvious was the third leg of a treble for Ipoh-based Chong who had earlier success with I Wish and Vibrant Spirit, all being Magic Millions purchases. Other WA bred horses that won on the program included Happy Realm (Bletchley Park-Lucy Tudor) a product from Dawson Stud at the 2009 Perth Premier Sale.

West Australian bred horses continued their dominance with three winners over the two days of racing. The first winner of the day belonged to the K L Chong trained A Ha Obama, a Dante's Fury gelding out of Ahmoud, a strong winner over 1100m. The Sunday Meet provided two more winners with the Blackfriars gelding Sky Dragon Bird out of the good producing mare Caitie-Eb winning over 1800. The day was rounded out by Kim Diva winning over 1400m, this gelding is by Theatre out of Colour me Kim.
